Your hospital makes its own medical oxygen, on site, day and night. Ultra Controlo designs and manufactures the whole system in Portugal: generation, cylinder filling, backup and monitoring.

How it works
Pressure swing adsorption, PSA, makes Oxygen 93, the medical oxygen grade with its own monographs in the European and US pharmacopoeias. ULTRAOX runs it automatically and measures purity continuously.
Compress.Compressors draw in ambient air, 21% oxygen and 78% nitrogen, and raise it to about 7 bar.
Clean.A water separator, micro and sub-micro filters and an activated carbon filter treat the air before it reaches the generators.
Separate.Inside the ULTRACON generators, zeolite holds back the nitrogen. Two columns take turns every few seconds: one makes oxygen while the other sends the nitrogen back outside.
Store and deliver.Oxygen at 94% (±1%) fills the buffer tank and flows into the hospital pipeline at 6 bar.
Watch.Zirconium oxide analysers measure purity continuously. If production drifts outside specification, the automatic changeover moves the supply to the secondary source, such as a cylinder bank, with no operator action.
The system
Every part below is designed and manufactured by Ultra Controlo, so it all works together, and one team looks after it.
The oxygen plant itself, sized to the hospital, in a plant room or in a container.

From national hospitals to island clinics. Here are some of the latest.

UltraCare
On large plants our factory technicians supervise installation, start-up and staff training, and UltraCare keeps the plant running for the years after.
Yes. ULTRAOX SC and ST deliver 94% (±1%) oxygen, which is Oxygen 93: the medical oxygen grade with its own monographs in the European and US pharmacopoeias. ULTRAOX plants are CE-marked Class IIb medical devices (notified body 1639). Read more
The hospital stays on oxygen. ULTRAOX connects to the network as one source among others, and if its production drifts outside specification, the automatic changeover moves the supply to the secondary source, such as a cylinder bank, with no operator action. Read more
No. ULTRAOX CO is a complete plant built inside a shipping container, for sites with no technical room or no space for civil works. Read more
Yes. An ULTRAFIL filling station connects to ULTRAOX and fills medical oxygen cylinders with an ULTRACECO HP compressor, at up to 200 bar depending on the model. Read more
ULTRAOX is designed for a minimum life cycle of 150,000 hours, which makes it an investment for at least 20 years, and the zeolite can last 10 years or more. Read more
